Bloor Homes is bringing forward an outline planning application for approximately 270 new high-quality homes, public parkland and community building on land to the north of Walpole Meadows, Stansted Mountfitchet.

Community consultation

Bloor Homes will be undertaking a programme of public consultation on the proposals in April, ahead of a planning application being submitted. As this is an outline planning application, the consultation will focus on the principle of development and potential benefits for the community.

This will provide an opportunity to learn more about the plans for the site, as well as to ask any questions to the project team directly. A feedback form will also be provided at the community consultation event, but if you have any further comments then please contact us.

Bloor Homes is progressing an outline planning application for the site. This includes details regarding the access and quantum of development, with all matters concerning design, scale, layout, landscaping, and ecological enhancements, reserved for later applications.

What has changed?

The proposals have experienced a few changes since the site was last consulted on back in January 2023.

  • Reduction of the initial proposal of ‘up to 350’ new homes to approximately 270.
  • Change in approach for the transport strategy by removing the secondary access point off Cambridge Road.
  • Rearrangement of open spaces within the site to create an improved, more open layout to the north of the site and location for the play area.
  • An evolved SuDS strategy to reflect the improved layout to the site.
  • Improved location for the proposed community building nearer the site entrance.
  • A new development parcel layout to create a more natural progression of development on site.
